Hacettepe University, Faculty of Fine Arts was established with the Decree Law No. 41 dated 20.7.1982, which was enacted with the number 2809 and entered into force on 28.3.1983 and started education and training in the 1983-1984 academic year in the Departments of Painting, Sculpture and Graphics, Ceramics and Glass of the Applied Arts Department.

The Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design of the Applied Arts of the faculty, which gave its first graduates in June 1987, was established in accordance with the decision taken at the meeting of the Higher Education Council dated 25.7.1984 and started education in the 1985-1986 academic year.

In addition, Elective Courses Department was established within the faculty and elective Plastic Arts, Photography, Cinema-TV courses are given to other faculty students.
